Today I worked in my studio on a mood board for project ‘In Bloom,’ a tentative title that is still to be confirmed. It was rewarding to see my ideas coming together. I have a location meeting this week to potentially shoot the project there. I’ve shortlisted 8 models for the photoshoot, which is exciting. I still need to source flowers and clothing. Since the shoots will be staggered over several weeks, faux flowers will likely be more cost-effective for most scenes to create volume. However, I plan to buy fresh bouquets for the close-up headshots.
This shoot has sparked a great collaboration with Human Beauty, an accessible and inclusive makeup brand, to create the romantic, feminine look I envision. I have a few remaining details to finalise and source before shooting, but I’m aiming to photograph in late April and early May to meet my end of May deadline.
