Introducing Jade L A Fisher

SHARE:

Jade L A Fisher she/her is a disabled portrait photographer based in Cheltenham in the southwest of England. She has a HND in Photography and a BA (hons) in Editorial and Advertising Photography.

Jade’s interest in the representation of disabled people stems from her research at university into how disabled people are represented in media, especially advertising, which she discovered was sadly lacking.

After becoming disabled herself; a person with a hidden disability, she found it difficult to accept this lack of representation. This is why Jade believes in using her images to provoke conversations around inclusion and diversity.

During her residency she aims to explore ways to make her work accessible from start to finish. She wants the work she creates to reflect the community she photographs.
