Audio description training and support: In Transit

Public programme:
Integrating access workshop

From My Bed explored artworks created from the bed in circumstances shaped by health, poverty or protest. Co-curated by Fine Art students Joanne Tiffany and Abbie Bruff, the exhibition brought together contributions from Yoko Ono, Mary McCartney, Wakefield Mental Health Museum, Bluecoat, In Transit and others to consider human vulnerability, adaptability and endurance.

Audio description & creative access

We delivered audio description training for participating artists and supported the development of audio descriptions for the exhibition.

As part of the public programme, we led a workshop exploring how access could inform artistic practice through materiality, experimentation and resourcefulness. Participants considered how the sensory qualities of materials could communicate aspects of an artwork and explored affordable, readily available materials found at home to develop tactile and other creative approaches to access.
